2018

Last Image Show, 2018, at Alliance Francaise, Tanzania. Co-curated by Gadi Ramadhani of
KokoTEN Studio| Gallery & Emergent Art Space, based in San Francisco.

” ‘The Last Image Show’ project aimed to challenge and deconstruct the ways in which societal conventions impose constraints on one’s ability to express his or her identity.

“The system of dominant social relations” claimed Brasilian educator Paulo Freire, “creates a ‘Culture of Silence’ that instils a negative, silenced and suppressed self-image into the oppressed.”

In the Last Image Show  in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 35 young artists from 21 countries around the world explored the theme of ‘SILENCE’, in different contexts and from different perspectives, in a ground breaking international exhibition.

In February 2019 the same exhibition travelled to Lusaka, Zambia,  where it was expanded to include Zambian artists. The international dialogue and exchanged continued.”
