CUSTOM, WEARABLE ART

GENERAL INFORMATION ON ALL HAND-PAINTED ARTWEAR
MATERIALS
Synthetic brushes and locally made, Dala fabric paint are used on 100% cotton t-shirts, handmade by Poly Nation in Cape Town. All materials used are vegan.
PROCESS
Design: I illustrate based on reference images or images and descriptions provided by the client.
Painting: I apply paint directly onto the clothing surface, building up an image, layer by layer.
Ironing: Once the design is complete, I do a few sessions of ironing on the opposite side of the artwork, letting the heat officially set the paint into the fabric so that when you wash your garment, the paint stays. This takes a few hours as the shirt must dry and cool before the next application of heat.
Total Time: Overall creative process takes 3 – 4 days.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Cool water, machine/ hand wash, line dry, do not iron on paint, wash with similar colours to the garment’s fabric.
COMMISSIONS

HAND POKE TATTOOS
For the time being, I have put hand poke tattoos on hold since the pandemic.
I do private hand poke tattoos in Cape Town. All materials used are vegan and provided by a local tattoo supplier. Medical waste is removed professionally. However, you are welcome to contact Caitlin here if you’d like to chat about ideas for a future time or see previous designs.
