No More Can Be Done

No More Can Be Done is the debut full length studio album by P+A+G+E+S released on October 25th 2025.  The album was recorded in February 2025 with Simon Ratcliffe and Carl Roberts at Sound and Motion Studios in Cape Town. The organization the of the vinyl pressing at DMS vinyl was done by Rouleaux van der Merwe of Permanent Record. The sound is atmospheric noise, doom, drone, sludge and post-metal. We are very punk, DIY and inclusive in our ethos. I am the drummer for this band.

The album deals with existential dread, geopolitical despair, environmental decay and raw emotion contrasted by inciting perseverance within an increasingly fascist and dying world. Our message is to take note of environmental degradation and to challenge oppression by standing up for BIPOC, women, LGBTQI+, human & animal rights.

The album begins with a metamorphosis of jolting, chaotic noise that melds into an industrial gait, dissipating into a gentle symphonic closure. Midway through the album continues with intensively constructed, dissonant and discordant tones, cemented with hefty drums. The lyrics utilizes an approach that distills the bigger picture into a simplistic mantra, carried by a disembodied vocal delivery.

The cover image shows the stages of a dandelion’s life cycle symbolizing resilience and perseverance through the chaos of life, aiming to instill a visual calmness that contrasts the album’s sonic intensity. The dandelion embodies the quality of being gentle but strong, spreading with the wind.

Album artwork for Australian post metal, post/ progressive/noise rock, improv band, TANGLED THOUGHTS OF LEAVING.

“Inspired by the sounds, intensity, emotion and life-cycles of the bush of the south-west of Australia, Oscillating Forest is a reconstruction of the harsh and varied landscape in audio form. As with the sounds and seasons of nature, the textures and tones captured here oscillate, pulse and modulate in a way that is not linear, predictable or safe; Tangled Thoughts of Leaving guides the listener through a terrain where danger and beauty are found and contrasted around every turn.
The artwork by South African artist Caitlin Mkhasibe further explores these themes of chaotic energy and space in the form of a conceptual view of Oscillating Forest, marked in map form. The lines, contours, terrains, textures, detail and intersections of trails echo the intertwining tracks of the record.” – (TToL press release, June 2nd 2023)

Album release day was August 4th 2023 via The Bird’s Robe Collective (AU) and with Dunk!records (EU).

Order on TToL’s Bandcamp – including some vinyl, CD, digital and t-shirt bundles. T-shirts are by TToL’s bassist, Luke Pollard (forest and birds design) and Caitlin Mkhasibe (map design). Dunk! Pressing did the beautiful Smoke and Splatter variants of the record as vinyl interpretations of the album artwork.
